Startups and firms are increasingly turning to data and artificial intelligence to guide strategic decisions, respond to uncertainty, and innovate in fast-evolving markets. The widespread adoption of predictive technologies—such as Machine Learning and GenAI tools for data analytics, idea generation, or product development—reflects a broader shift in how entrepreneurial decision-making is approached. This trend has sparked a growing academic literature in management and economics that investigates not only the role of data and AI in shaping strategy, but also the need for more robust decision frameworks that go beyond prediction.
Danilo’s research sits at this intersection, exploring how data-driven and causal approaches can be combined to support high-impact innovation and more resilient entrepreneurial trajectories.
His research has been published in top-tier academic journals and has been featured in leading management publications including Harvard Business Review, among others.
He is the Director of pre-acceleration programs in Italy and India, where he has worked with more than 1,800 start-ups. In this role, he combines the latest management practices with research insights to help deliver cutting-edge training and mentorship programs.
He took his Ph.D. (cum laude) in Business Administration and Management at Bocconi University (Milan, Italy), after a master’s degree in Theoretical Physics and a specialization degree in Mathematical Finance (cum laude), both at the University of Bologna.
He worked for a few years at Bain & Company and Unicredit Group.
